Flashpoint: Abin Sur - The Green Lantern
by Adam Schlagman, Felipe Massafera, and Robson Rocha
In this miniseries we get a peek at Abin Sur's relationship with his late sister -- she had always regarded the sanctity of life and he tried to honor her life by becoming a Green Lantern. When the Guardians of Oa instruct him to retrieve the white light entity on the primitive planet Earth, he takes the opportunity to try to save lives in Aquaman/Wonder Woman's war, against their instructions.
It's a nice, compact side story along Flashpoint, but not much more.
Highlights: Thaal slices off Abin's ring hand in a fight, but then Abin uses his willpower to will a hand that can hold the ring -- pretty creative use.
Flashpoint: Hal Jordan
by Adam Schlagman, Ben Oliver, and Cliff Richards
Hal Jordan, flyboy of Ferris Air, gets the go-ahead to drop the "Green Arrow" nuke on London in an attempt to stop the war between Aquaman and Wonder Woman! He's the first Earthman to meet an alien, the Green Lantern Abin Sur, and performs all kinds of ridiculous stunts at the cost of his airplanes, to the behest of his manager Hector Hammond.
Highlights: There's some kind of mystical creature that hops onto Hal's plane or otherwise harasses him, in every issue. It includes, but is not limited to: Sharkmen from Atlantis, Furies and Giant women from Themyscira.
Flashpoint: Booster Gold
issues 44-47, by Dan Jurgens Norm Rapmund, and more
Unlike the other DC series, Booster Gold never had a "pause" in his comic book series, since his suit protects him from chronal energy (or something like that). So, it's the same ol' Booster Gold with the same ol' Skeets. In order to restore the timeline, he tries a couple things but ultimately finds the Flash to pick up his residual chronal energy. The story itself is pretty good -- the government has mind-controlled Doomsday in an attempt to protect the world from Aquaman and Wonder Woman's war, and mistakes Booster Gold for an Atlantean scout to be killed. Booster enlists help from a woman who is later revealed to actually have superpowers, but they have to part at the end of the series.
Highlights: It's a well-written introduction to the world of Booster Gold. Since Flashpoint involves the timeline, even the 44th issue would have been a good jumping-on point.
Abin Sur: The Green Lantern and Hal Jordan are collected in The World of Flashpoint Featuring Green Lantern.
These Booster Gold issues are collected in The World of Flashpoint Featuring Superman.
